By definition, an algorithm is “a process or set of rules to be followed” and to me the creation of art has no fucking rules! So why in the hell would any true artist create with the current trend or algorithm as their foundation?
I can type away and bitch about how much I hate how the world is full of fake shit, plagiarism, lazy creation and a work ethic that paints evil selfish men as saviors, or...I can do my own thing and maybe give a creative spark of inspiration to someone reading this.
“What is your own thing?” you ask, and “How do you get around the algorithm in a world that feels they need to adhere to it or become irrelevant?”
Simple, go back to the basics of print.
Right now you are consuming something that came into your life that you can’t swipe right, like, comment, screen shot or even post as your own. You had to physically open this up along with your mind and turn the FUCKING page! There is no fifteen second story with stolen music with this.
What you can do is throw it away, burn it, gift it to your grandmother or you can hang on to it because it is the first issue of this series and you can continue to collect every issue. You never know it could pay for your great great great grandchild’s college in the future. More than likely you’ll have a cool collection of books that can double as a coaster in a pinch.
Whatever you do with this, I appreciate you taking the time to roll through the very first issue of this new adventure.
