In May of 2017 I flew to Birmingham, AL to meet up with Alice Cooper to shoot the cover for his upcoming album "Paranormal" that was being released worldwide July 28, 2017.
My assistant Noah, Alice's personal assistant Kyler, and I started setting up the shoot in Alice's hotel room while he was out golfing at the local course.
Alice returned and started getting ready. A record rep from Germany flew in to make sure the crazy redneck they hired could actually do everything he was hired to do. Not only did they need the album cover, they also needed promo photos and a shit ton of video content to go along with the release. When I was talking with them in pre-production they couldn't believe I'd do that with a crew of 2 people. Well, they were pleasantly surprised when it was all done.
Alice does his own make up, but I hired a local MUA just in case. It was a good thing I did because Alice remembered a BBQ place called Blue Moon BBQ--said it was some of the best he ever had. We ordered a ton of BBQ and the local MUA was able to go pick it up. By the time she got back, the shoot was done and we were ready to dig in. It was great to break bread with the Coop and listen to him tell Keith Moon stories. I remember thinking, "I can't believe I get to call this work."
Below are a few of the magazine covers from that shoot and a Behind the Scenes video as well.
