LEMMY IS GOD

9/16/2022

Picture
There are so many great stories of Lemmy Kilmister throughout rock and roll history. I've witnessed a few and heard a million of them. Some of my favorite times are chilling at the Rainbow Bar and Grill, having a drink,  and feeling like I was in a fairy tale with Lemmy playing video poker a few bar stools down from me.

My all time favorite Lemmy story was from the Mayhem Festival tour when Motorhead was opening up for Slayer and Slipknot. Motorhead kept going over their set time by 5 to 10 minutes, which doesn't seem like a lot, but touring is organized chaos and when set times run long it fucks everything up. So the owner of the tour, John Reese, talked with Lemmy on his bus and asked if they could cut a couple of their songs off their set list. Lemmy politely responded,

"Fuck that, we will just play faster."

And that's what they did. No songs were cut, they just played them faster and hit their set time. That's one of the many reasons I consider Lemmy the
God of Rock and Roll!

TBSW? RADIO SHOW DEBUT COMING

9/2/2022

In the debut episode of "Tour Bus Said What?", titled "Superglue", Rob reveals how back in 1995 he fell into a radio career as a DJ named "Discharge" on the radio station KBER in Salt Lake City, UT and the madness of his music industry journey started. In the short two years with KBER he reigned HELL down on the airwaves of Utah that ended in a radio stunt that shocked the industry. As Rob states in this episode, "You'll be surprised what a little superglue and a few hundred go FUCK yourself's can do for your career and an asshole of a boss." Nobody could of guessed where the story would go from there, not even Rob.

FENN'S TOUR DIARY - OCTOBER 14, 2011

10/14/2011

October 14, 2011 - Mountain View, CA - Last day of the Uproar Tour didn't disappoint. During Sevendust's set the crew through out a couple thousand Trojan condoms over the crowd. The band didn't skip a beat with all the chaos going on stage. Avenged Sevenfold had to cancel their set at the last minute. I thought the crowd was going to riot, but Seether and Three Days Grace stepped up and did longer sets. Shawn, Three Days Grace tour manger even joined in and sang a Limp Bizkit song. Ended the night with a broken bus so we sat in the parking lot until 3 am waiting for a new one. Finally hit the road about 3:30 am and headed to Las Vegas for the 48 Hours Festival. Great first tour. I can't wait to do this shit again!

October 13, 2011 - Sacramento, CA - Back at it! Had a great few days off hanging with Chad and Kira in Hollywood,. but happy to be back in my 40 foot fart tube on wheels I call home. I'm not sure how many cans of Rockstar Energy they give away everyday, but it's a fuck ton! The show was great tonight. Everybody was rested from the break and ready to hit the stage again. Sad, but tomorrow is the last show of the tour. Crazy it's almost over.

FENN'S TOUR DIARY - OCTOBER 9, 2011

October 9, 2011 - Chula Vista, CA - With the gig being so close to Los Angeles, backstage had a ton of industry people there. Met a lot of cool people today. Johnny from Art of Dying lost his voice so they had a bunch of guess singers in their set including Shaun from Seether. Since we have a few days off, Chad rolled down from Hollywood to watch the show and pick me up to stay with him for a few days.

October 8, 2011 - Phoenix, AZ - Felt good to be in some warm weather today. Shot the hell out of everyone today plus a bunch a product shots for Rockstar Energy. Three Days Grace had a crowd reaction like it was a hometown show from them. Must have a lot of Canadians living in AZ. Next stop California!

October 7, 2011 - Albuquerque, NM - The rain didn't stop the crowd from letting loose today. Sevendust's set was insane. Kids crowd surfing in raincoats without a care in the world. I love how powerful music is.

October 5, 2011 - Denver, CO - It felt great being back in Denver. I miss living here. Was able to see some old friends and was able to shoot the family photo for the tour. It was crazy to see everyone from the tour on stage together. Give a new meaning to the phrase, "Herding cats."
