DIARY OF A MADMAN: APRIL 16, 2022
Cue "Merle Haggard's "Mama Tried" Today is a very special day for me, and has been every year of my life. Today I celebrate the birthday of my mother. Everything good and decent about me comes from her and my grandmother. She taught me to enjoy life, fight for what your love, be kind to others, feed your brain, and always be thankful for the lessons life teaches us. Everyone says their mother is a saint but mine truly is. Anyone that knows her will say the same. Not sure how she raised all of us assholes but she did. Trust me, my siblings and myself weren't easy. However all her hard work and love shows at our family gatherings. Sunday dinners and Christmas parties are memories that I'll always cherish. One of my favorite memories is a text message from my mother when her and my father was at the Garth Brooks concert. "The usher says we are close enough for him to spit on us. Do we need to worry about that?" It was their first big concert and the Garth camp took so good care of them. Love you mom, can't wait for the next Sunday dinner and sorry for all the hell I continue to put you through. -Rob
